Pool Party Games For Kids Dos And Don'ts

By Maryanne Goff

Throwing kids a party near the pool is an excellent idea as kids love playing in water. You can bring joy and excitement to a specific special occasion while organizing pool party games for kids. It is not a good idea to leave children alone especially when they are near the water therefor you need to constantly watch them.

Pinata by the pool is one of the most popular games in this respect. The pinata can be filled with lots of different goodies like small toys, chocolates and sweets. Turn by turn give everyone a chance to hit the pinata until its broken. Its up to you whether you place the pinata inside the water or just outside where kids can reach it easily. It is a fun filled activity for sure.

Use your imagination and create such party games of your own. As most of the time children would be playing in water therefore opt for water friendly games so that they don't have to get in an out of there again and again. Even when you're playing pinata game you should use waterproof material and place all the goodies in waterproof containers so that they don't get wet.

You could also throw different things including prize and other toys in the swimming pool and ask the kids to get as many as they can just as if they are playing treasure hunt. Always make sure that such games are age appropriate because small children are likely to get harmed when things get more physical in nature.

Another popular game of this nature is crossing the river. In this game two groups compete with each other therefore two ropes are set across the entire length of the water area. Each team is given a floating bed which they can use as a boat on which they can float. The aim of the game is to cross the water and which ever team does it first wins the challenge.

You can also opt for ball games if you like and you know that kids would like this game as well. Its up to you if you select net ball or an easier diversion like passing the ball. There would be one winning team and one loosing team but kids shouldn't get disheartened even if they loose.

No matter what type of party game you opt for, the important thing is to keep children safe all the time. It is better if you give every child a life vest even if they know how to swim because prevention is better than cure and you would not want any accidents happening at your party.

It can be said that pool party games for kids are just not limited to one or two types of games as the available choice is endless. It is very important that you select a game that is suitable for the party occasion and also suits the age group of children for whom the function is being organized.
