Improve Your Game At The San Francisco Baseball Academy

By Marsha Klein

San Francisco Baseball Academy is considered to be the number one baseball school in the city. They work with people from all age groups, ranging from small children all the way up to the elderly. The academy's aim is to help those who aspire to become professional sports people. They also coach teams and advise local leagues.

The academy prides itself on nurturing peoples' love for the game. Not only do they offer coaching but you can hold your birthday party there or just hang out and have a good time. The atmosphere is very supportive and friendly, so people need not be nervous about signing up for a class.

Michael Aicardi originally established the academy. He started off with only one customer but now has well over a hundred. His goal was to make baseball popular in the city and has contributed towards that by increasing the number of students. Three teachers now work in the top quality indoor training facility.

Joe Della Cella is a popular teacher at the school. He is very passionate about the sport and cares about how popular it is in the city. For a few years he was the assistant coach at the University Of San Francisco and before that he was Director Of Baseball Operations. He also holds a Master Of The Arts degree.

Most classes are about an hour long. Kids are taught precise techniques and then they play matches in order to reinforce them. The best thing about the sport is that it requires technical skills rather than physical skills. In addition, there is no contact in the way that there is in football. As a result, most people can try their hand at it. It's also an excellent way of giving people experience in team games.

Some students are as young as three years old. Their lessons tend to take place during the earlier part of the day and they are taught about the game's fundamentals. This typically means holding a bat and swinging it, running to each base and throwing. The focus is on working as a team, as well as good manners and sportsmanship.

The lessons are geared toward understanding the requirements of each child. The coaches try to determine whether they are right or left handed and they try to find ways of improving each child's weaknesses. Everybody is taught the rules of the sport. They are given written documents so that they can spend time learning them at home. It takes years to understand all the rules, so an early start is very useful.

San Francisco Baseball Academy also offer courses for Major League students. They take eight classes a week for eight weeks and each one lasts for about an hour. Each course takes place on the same day each week. By the end of the two month period, many students decide to sign-up for more. You are free to join additional classes if you want to do more than one a week. You can pay for eight classes at a time or on a single class basis, it depends on what you can afford.
